Kid Rock Biography
Kid Rock was 'born a poor black child' (no offense, it's a line from the Steve Martin movie 'The Jerk'). Seriously though, Kid Rock was born to the real name of Robert James Ritchie on the date of 1/17/1971 and in the Detroit area of Romeo in Michigan. Romeo MI is slightly north of Detroit, which is what brought 'Rob Ritchie' to hang out a lot in Detroit. While life bored him growing up, he began to find his release in rapping, writing music, break dancing and joining local talent shows. He worked at this non-stop until 'Kid Rock' was 'born'. He taped his first demo almost 9 years before his fourth album was released in 1998 called 'Devil Without A Cause' and his popularity exploded. He gave a new meaning to 'white trash rock n roll' but Kid Rock's music was REALLY good and that album went on to become a huge party record.
Kid Rock did not have it easy though when he wasn't the 'Kid Rock' we know him of. As previously stated, he really didn't make it big until his fourth studio album and that was almost ten years after he cut his first demo. He's actually quite talented. His music is a slushy mix of Rock n Roll, Country, Rap, Hip-Hop and several more music genres and it appeals so a wide range of ages. Some of his songs are 'spiritual' as Kid Rock finds himself close with God and even though he puts on a 'bad boy' image, he really is a kind, caring, giving and overall great person (besides being so musically talented). ... full Kid Rock biography
